While talking to my friend just before he left to work, he mentioned that he did not see the point of coming to work. He decided he was much better off in bed than he was at work.
I suggested that the time that he could spend sleeping was much more valuable than the time he could spend working.
A few days later I was in a coffee shop and a few minutes after sitting down a man came in and asked if I would like some coffee. I declined because I did not want to buy anything.
At that time I was still living with my parents. At five o’clock, instead of going home I went to a youth hostel. But when my friends came to visit me, I went back to my apartment.
It was very cold there so I went to the coffee shop. As soon as I sat down, a man came over to me and asked if I would like a cup of coffee.
I said yes and he asked me to get up, and we left the coffee shop and sat down in a park where we would be more comfortable.
This man was married and had two children. He was a very nice guy. He told me that he often went to coffee shops. But the problem was that he had just been fired from a job that he had held for five years.
He said that it just seemed like such a waste of a life. I was a student at the time, and I knew that this man was not only intelligent, but was very talented.
His personality was so outgoing that it seemed like he was always excited about something. He was not, however, very good at holding down a steady job.
